What a wonderful day! I got lots of love from my family. Ainsley's been walking around saying Happy Birfday!!! Jeff got me some very thoughtful gifts. I got two new colouring books, a barbie and a set of willow tree figures call Three Blessings (Joy, Love and Peace). The first two things may seem strange for a 31 year old but I love to colour with my kids and I prefer the higher bond paper to the newsprint kids of books. The pages are also perforated so they can be copied with our printer. Since the girls got their Barbies they have been wanting me to play with them but I never had one to play with. Now I do. Their Barbies are currently borrowing her princess dress and crown while my Barbie borrows Ken's outfit...lol.
From my mom I got a cookbook called "9X13 The Pan That Can" It had recipes from breakfast right through til dessert. I can't wait to try some of them out. Beanie was have a good read of it too.
For my birthday supper I decided to try French Onion Soup. Can I just say Blech...that was not a good experiment. The Ladies were asking why I had no birthday cake so I called my mom and she brought a black forest cake over. It was very yummy. We read 3 stories for bedtime. My brother called and seemed shocked that we weren't doing anything special. It may not be much but enjoying my day with my little family is the best gift of all.
